# Deplane > Deplane turns a folder of code into a running app at a public URL with one command. Deplane is a platform as a service (PaaS) for deploying web apps, APIs, background workers, cron jobs and managed databases (Postgres, MySQL, Redis and ClickHouse). It is an alternative to Vercel, Fly.io, Render, Railway and Heroku. Key facts: - Deploy from a folder (`deplane launch`), from a public Docker image (`deplane launch --image`), from the dashboard, or on every push to a GitHub repository, with a live preview for every pull request (optionally with its own empty Postgres database). First deploys take one to two minutes. - Addresses: apps at https://.deplane.app, the dashboard at https://app.deplane.io, the API (CLI and MCP) at https://api.deplane.io. - Zero configuration: it detects Node (Next.js, Remix, Express, NestJS and more), Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask), Go, Ruby on Rails, PHP and Laravel, Java and Spring Boot, static sites, or uses a Dockerfile. - Isolation: every app, build and database runs in its own microVM (Kata Containers) with its own kernel, not in containers sharing a kernel with other customers. - Data: managed Postgres 17 or 18 (chosen when the database is created) with continuous backups and point-in-time restore (the plan's backup window: 1 day on Free up to 90 days on Enterprise, with a second copy on a separate backup server) and a live copy on another server for failover; MySQL 8.4, Redis (Valkey 8) and ClickHouse, each backed up every night; disks whose files stay across deploys, backed up every night. None of them has a public address; apps reach them over Deplane's private network, and apps of a team can call each other there too. - Moving in: one command imports an app from Heroku, Render, Railway, Fly.io, Vercel, Netlify, Docker Compose or a cPanel WordPress site (`deplane import heroku` and so on), with its variables, workers, cron jobs and database; the old host keeps serving until you switch. A Postgres database can be copied from any host, or kept in sync while the app still runs on the old one and then switched in under a minute. - Included: HTTPS on every app, custom domains with automatic certificates, one-click templates (open-source apps such as Plausible Community Edition, Grafana, Langfuse and Ghost, and starters for common stacks), each deployed with its database and disk, workers and cron jobs, encrypted secrets, zero-downtime rollouts, one-step rollback, automatic rollback when errors spike after a deploy, autoscaling on CPU, sleep when idle, live logs, metrics (requests, errors, p95 latency, CPU, memory), alerts to Slack, Discord and webhooks (email is not set up yet), teams with an activity log. - An AI assistant (in beta; it works once the platform operator has set it up) reads an app's real logs, metrics and builds, explains problems and proposes fixes (scale, roll back, redeploy, add a database, worker or domain, restore a database backup); nothing changes until the user confirms, and it never deletes. - For AI tools: an MCP server at https://api.deplane.io/mcp with OAuth (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor connect in a minute; no deletes). For CI: every CLI command supports --json with stable exit codes; scoped CI tokens. - Sign-in uses passkeys and a second factor; there are no passwords. - Infrastructure: our own data centers in Europe, in Frankfurt, Germany (not AWS, Google Cloud or Azure). - Plans: Free ($0: 1 app and a small Postgres database, 1 GB of memory together; a Redis can take the database's place; its apps sleep after 15 idle minutes and wake on the next request; cron jobs but no workers) is available today. Hobby ($7/month), Pro ($20/month) and Team ($99/month) are not on sale yet; Deplane can set them on request (support@deplane.io); there is no trial. ClickHouse (and the Plausible template) is on Team and Enterprise. Teams from the beta stay on the Beta plan until moved. Enterprise is by contact sales; dedicated servers and region choice are on the roadmap. The direction is that teams can grow from shared servers to dedicated servers and, on the 2027 roadmap, their own cluster or a private Deplane, without migrating. - Status (November 2026): invite-only beta in Europe; request access at https://deplane.io/beta. ## Docs Every docs page is Markdown at the URL below and HTML without the .md suffix; all of them in one file: https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/llms-full.txt. The API is described at https://api.deplane.io/v1/openapi.yaml. - [Deplane documentation](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/index.md): Deplane turns a folder of code into a running app at a public URL with one command. - [Install](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/install.md): Install the deplane CLI, log in with your passkey, and check your setup. - [Quickstart](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/quickstart.md): Go from a folder of code to a live HTTPS URL with deplane launch, then deploy, watch, scale, and roll back. - [Dashboard](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/dashboard.md): Everything the CLI does, in your browser: deploy, watch builds live, read logs and metrics, roll back, scale, and manage domains, databases, variables, workers, and your team. - [CLI reference](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/cli.md): Every deplane command with its flags, a human example, and its --json output. - [GitHub](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/github.md): Connect a repository to an app: every push to its branch deploys, and every pull request gets its own preview address. - [GitLab and Bitbucket](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/gitlab-bitbucket.md): Deploy from GitLab or Bitbucket in one of two ways. Deplane never holds a credential that reaches more than one repository. - [Scaling](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/scaling.md): How many copies of your app run, how big each one is, when more start on their own, and when the app sleeps while nobody uses it. - [Custom domains](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/domains.md): Serve an app at your own domain, with HTTPS. Every app always keeps its own address at .deplane.app. - [Alerts](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/alerts.md): Deplane watches every app around the clock and tells your team when one goes down, returns errors, slows down, or fails to deploy. - [Assistant](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/assistant.md): Ask about your apps in plain words: why a deploy failed, why an app is slow, what changed, what to do next. - [Use Deplane from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/mcp.md): Connect Deplane to your AI tool once. Then ask it to build and host an app, and it creates, deploys and runs it for you, in your Deplane team. - [Databases](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/databases.md): Managed Postgres next to your apps (Postgres 17, or 18 where Deplane offers it), backed up continuously, with point-in-time restore. - [Import a Postgres database](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/import-postgres.md): Move a Postgres database from another host (Heroku, Render, Railway, Fly, RDS, Supabase, Neon, or your own server) into a new Deplane database. Paste the source's connection URL, check it, and start. For a source that supports it, Deplane keeps the copy in sync while your app still runs on the old database; then you stop writes, press Finish, and switch in under a minute. - [Moving from Heroku](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/heroku.md): Move a Heroku app to Deplane with one command, or from the dashboard (From the dashboard): deplane import heroku reads the app on Heroku, shows what moves and what stays, then creates the Deplane app with its secrets, workers and release command, copies the Postgres database, adds a Redis, and deploys your code. Heroku keeps serving your users until you switch. - [Moving from Render](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/render.md): Move a Render web service to Deplane with one command, or from the dashboard (From the dashboard): deplane import render reads the service on Render, with the background workers and cron jobs built from the same repository, shows what moves and what stays, then creates the Deplane app with its secrets, workers, cron jobs and release command, copies the Postgres database, adds a Redis for a Key Value, and deploys your code. Render keeps serving your users until you switch. - [Moving from Railway](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/railway.md): Move a Railway service to Deplane with one command, or from the dashboard (From the dashboard): deplane import railway reads the project on Railway, shows what moves and what stays, then creates the Deplane app with its secrets, workers, cron jobs and release command, copies the Postgres database, adds a Redis, and deploys your code. Railway keeps serving your users until you switch. - [Moving from Docker Compose](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/compose.md): Move a project you run with Docker Compose (on a VPS, a home server or your laptop) to Deplane in one command: deplane import compose reads your docker-compose.yml, shows what each service becomes and what cannot move, then creates the apps, workers, managed databases, Redis, disks and secrets, and deploys. The dashboard does the same for a one-app file under New app, Import from Docker Compose. - [Moving from Fly.io](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/fly.md): Move a Fly app to Deplane with one command, or from the dashboard (From the dashboard). deplane import fly reads the app on Fly.io and the fly.toml in your code, then shows what moves and what stays. It then creates the Deplane app with its variables, workers, cron jobs and release command. Fly.io keeps serving your users until you switch. - [Moving from Vercel](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/vercel.md): Move a Vercel project to Deplane with one command, or from the dashboard (From the dashboard). deplane import vercel reads the project on Vercel and shows what moves and what stays. It then creates the Deplane app with its production variables and a cron job for each Vercel cron, and deploys your code. Vercel keeps serving your users until you switch. - [Moving from Netlify](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/netlify.md): Move a Netlify site to Deplane with one command, or from the dashboard (From the dashboard). deplane import netlify reads the site on Netlify and the netlify.toml in your code, and shows what moves and what stays. It then creates the Deplane app with its production variables and deploys your code. Netlify keeps serving your users until you switch. - [Moving from cPanel](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/cpanel.md): Move a WordPress site from a cPanel host to Deplane with one command: deplane import cpanel reads the cPanel account, shows what moves and what stays, then copies the site's files, database and users into a new WordPress app. You test the copy on its own address while the old host keeps serving your domain; when it works, you run the command once more with --cutover and change DNS. Email stays at your host. - [Disks](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/disks.md): Give an app a disk whose files stay across deploys and restarts, backed up every night. - [Redis](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/redis.md): A managed Redis for your apps: a cache, a job queue, sessions, rate limits. - [MySQL](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/mysql.md): A managed MySQL 8.4 for your apps: one server, backed up every night, attached to your apps as MYSQL_URL. - [ClickHouse®](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/clickhouse.md): A managed database based on ClickHouse 26.8 for analytics and event data: one server, backed up every night, attached to your apps as CLICKHOUSE_URL. - [Templates](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/templates.md): Deploy an open-source app or a starter in one click, with the database, Redis, MySQL, ClickHouse® database and disk it needs. - [Stacks: several apps in one file](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/stacks.md): Describe several apps, their workers, cron jobs, databases, disks, domains and variables once in a stack.yaml, and Deplane creates them and keeps them in that shape. - [Workers and cron jobs](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/workers.md): Run more processes from the same app: workers that run all the time, such as a queue consumer or a bot, and cron jobs that run on a schedule, such as a nightly report. - [Release command](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/release-command.md): A release command runs once before each new version starts serving, usually to migrate the database. If it fails, the new version is not released and the one that is live keeps serving. - [Private networking](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/private-networking.md): With the private network on, your team's other apps reach an app at http://, without the public internet. A frontend can call its API, and an API can call an internal service, and none of it is exposed to the world. - [Team](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/team.md): Work on your apps together. Everyone signs in with their own passkey, and everything they do appears in Activity with their name. - [Secrets](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/secrets.md): Store API keys, passwords, and other configuration as encrypted secrets that your app reads as environment variables. - [Limits](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/limits.md): Every limit that applies to your apps, builds, and account, in one place. - [Agents, CI, and scripts](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/agents.md): Use Deplane from AI agents, CI pipelines, and scripts with a token, JSON output, and stable exit codes. - [Troubleshooting and error codes](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/errors.md): Fixes for common problems, and every Deplane error code with what it means and how to fix it. - [Security](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/security.md): How Deplane isolates your apps, protects your account, tokens, and secrets, and how to report a vulnerability. - [Reporting abuse](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/abuse.md): How to report an app on Deplane that hosts phishing, malware, spam, or other abuse, and what happens next. - [Acceptable use policy](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/acceptable-use.md): What you may not do with Deplane, how we enforce it, and how to report a breach. - [Forms](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/docs/forms.md): Take contact forms, sign-ups and feedback without writing a backend. Mark a form in your HTML, deploy, and Deplane receives its submissions, keeps them, and tells you about them. ## Website - [Home](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/): What Deplane is and everything it includes. - [Templates](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/templates): One-click open-source apps such as Plausible Community Edition, Grafana, Langfuse and Ghost, and starters for common stacks, with what each needs and its licence. - [Pricing](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/pricing): Plans, usage prices, instance sizes and a full feature comparison. - [Security](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/security): MicroVM isolation, sign-in, secrets, audit log, patch deadlines and what is still in progress. - [Enterprise](https://login.185-237-96-225.eu-fr-cloud-xip.com/enterprise): By contact.
